4 new Prince of Tennis covers. (finally.)

April 22, 2008

All 4 upcoming Prince of Tennis character CDs have finally been given covers on the Prince of Tennis music official site. Finally, considering one of them is coming out tomorrow. No tracklist yet though? Huh, guess we’ll just have to wait until it comes out. xD

Ikemen Samurai – Dear Prince ~Tennis no Oujisamatachi e~
This one’s so weird. xD What is Atobe wearing? Well, I guess it fits in with the “samurai” thing. Can we see the other regulars cosplaying? xD Where are the others in Ikemen Samurai, anyway?
I would actually LOVE to see them play tennis dressed like this. Sadly, that’s not going to ever happen, right?

Ooishi Shuuichirou – Koikaze ~Windy day Mix~
Ok…

Echizen Ryouma – ICHIGAN ~2008 version~
Uhhh…creepy shadows? O__o

Tong-tai – Ya.ki.ni.ku
So, here we have almost-bald Kabaji, really creepy Chinen, and the fat-ass Tanishi. Oh man. Dx I don’t think I’ll buy this one. Chinen will haunt my dreams.

So, Dear Prince is coming out tomorrow. Koikaze and Ichigan are coming out next Wednesday, and Ya.ki.ni.ku is May 9th. I can’t wait for Dear Prince! <3 (I really couldn’t care less about the others…)

GAAASSPPPP! Something that’s not a limited release!
Apparently this is compiling the best opening and ending songs to the radio show. (I wonder if that means it’s ending?) It mentions HIRO-X (he/they did something other than ‘future’?) and then it says “the rest”. I don’t follow the radio show at all, so I really have no idea what any of this is.

There are also four new radio CDs coming out on April 16th, from October 2005 to January 2006. Why are they so far behind…?
There isn’t really much to note about them other than they spelled November wrong on the site (as “Nobember” lol) and what the hell is Ooishi doing on the cover of the January one?

That is not a valid reaction to an umbrella…

Catching up

March 12, 2008

So this is my first post after moving my former blog, ~ lurking in the shadows ~ (on Blogger, here) to WordPress. I got the idea for it about a week ago, then like 7+ j-pop blogs got deleted from WP so I decided against it, but after Kawaiirrhea figured out what was causing the shutdowns (Pony Canyon downloads), I decided to just go ahead because I don’t have any Pony Canyon downloads on my blog (and as of now I don’t plan on ever having any). I like WordPress better than Blogger, so…
There’s also a new name. I kinda was getting tired of the old name, and since I’m moving this anyway, why not? xD Resonant Blue was the first thing that came to mind…named after Morning Musume’s upcoming single.

As my first post here, I should catch up with everything I’ve missed lately. I’m going to attempt to keep this blog up-to-date, update it much more, and write some posts that have some actual content besides just quick news posts. xD

(my g key’s broken, and while I’m copy-pasting the lowercase g it’s too much trouble to keep copy-pasting the uppercase and then having to go back to the lowercase…so that’s why I might have random fail moments in terms of capitalization)

Prince of Tennis + Chinese drama adaptation = …this is going to take me some time to get used to.

February 21, 2008

So I wrote a couple of posts about the upcoming Prince of Tennis Chinese drama back when the news first came out. Here are the posts if you’re interested, but it’s really nothing more than basic information:
Prince of Tennis Chinese TV drama?!? (um, this one kinda contains a small rant about how the anime failed to follow canon, so spoilers for the Rikkai arc)
A bit more info on the Prince of Tennis Chinese TV drama

So, I was happy to wait like a year before it came out. But then I started getting impatient. XD A couple of weeks ago, I found that there was a page for it over on the DramaWiki (http://wiki.d-addicts.com/The_Prince_of_Tennis) and immediately got uber excited. However, back then, all it was was a list of cast members and roles, a picture of a couple of the regulars, and a link to a Chinese site. This was quite a problem. See, they changed the names.
So I was left with a cast list full of Chinese names, and honestly, reading about how Qin Jun Jie is playing “Long Ma” means nothing to me. XD And a trip to the official (I’m assuming) Chinese site didn’t help, though I identified Tezuka, Inui, and Ryoma in the pictures. xD
But!
I have no idea what motivated me to do this, but I checked the DramaWiki site again today, and yay! A summary was added, plus someone added links to the Wikipedia pages for each of the characters- so each Chinese name linked to the Wikipedia page for the character in their Japanese name! Now I can tell who’s who! xDD (The “Long Ma” guy I mentioned earlier is Ryoma, btw. I actually probably could have figured that out, with him being first in the cast list, but w/e…)

AHHHHHH WTF (very minor PoT chapter 358 spoilers)

September 20, 2007

AHHHHH WTF
I just realized that the Golden Pair hasn’t won since
THE FUCKING YAMABUKI ARC
DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD:
I mean, they’re a National-level doubles pair, and they’re supposedly one of the best…
so how come they haven’t won in almost 30 volumes?
Ooishi/Kikumaru pair record
vs. Fudoumine – win
vs. St. Rudolph – loss
vs. Yamabuki – win
vs. Hyoutei – N/A (Ooishi hurt his arm)
vs. Midoriyama – N/A (Ooishi’s still hurt)
vs. Rokkaku – N/A (still hurt)
vs. Rikkadai – loss
vs. Higa – N/A (Ooishi’s off the regulars)
vs. Hyoutei 2 – loss
vs. Shitenhouji – N/A (they just didn’t play, really, no reason given)

So…
D:
I’m actually really disappointed.
I mean, seriously.
Compare them to Inui/Kaidou…
Inui/Kaidou pair record
vs. Hyoutei (first time playing together) – loss (but they could have won if Inui didn’t call his own shot out)
vs. Midoriyama – win
vs. Rokkaku – N/A
vs. Rikkaidai – N/A
vs. Higa – win
vs. Hyoutei 2 – win
vs. Shitenhouji – N/A
vs. Rikkaidai 2- …loss? who knows, the outcome will probably be shown in tomorrow’s chapter.

Not that the Golden Pair hasn’t had their fair share of screentime. I mean, sure, vs Fudoumine they weren’t really shown- just enough to introduce their abilities. But then St. Rudolph was like, EPIC MATCH- it ended with them losing, but they got a ton of screentime there. Then vs Yamabuki was pretty normal-ish…
vs. Hyoutei, even though Eiji was playing with Momo, there was a lot of angsting on Eiji’s part about not being able to play with Ooishi…
vs. Rikkaidai was great- in the manga, that is. The anime kinda killed it, but they ruined the whole arc, so whatever. In the manga, Eiji got that concussion and everything…cute Golden Pair. <333
vs. Higa Chuu, they had that entire thing with Eiji ‘not playing doubles anymore’…I seriously CRIED at that episode. I’m not even kidding, once it hits the scene where Eiji confronts Ooishi in front of the clubroom, I’m IN TEARS. ;-; EVERY FUCKING TIME. Eiji’s singles match blends in amazing Golden Pair angst with Eiji being uber cute and amazing, and it’s great…
So then vs Hyoutei again, they played against the Silver Pair. One word: SYNCHRO. That was so kick-ass. =D They got quite a bit of screentime there, as a doubles pair that is actually pro-level in some aspects- Synchro is something that apparently only the top pro doubles pairs achieve. =DDD
But if they’re so good, then why can’t they come up with a win?
D:
Which is why they have to win this match. Against whoever Rikkaidai puts out- my guess is Marui/Jackal, since to me neither of them seem to be the singles type, but you never know…
Their goal is to be the #1 doubles pair at Nationals. So far, they’re failing MISERABLY. As much as it pains me to say so, it’s true.
BUT. If they win against Rikkai’s D1…
Well, I’ll be happy. =D
