Odd Crossover Thought of the Moment

You know, sometimes I get these weird thoughts that I really could live without. This happens to be one of them.
I was thinking about Prince of Tennis this morning, probably fanfic ideas, and then all of a sudden Resonant Blue just randomly pops into my head. So I’m humming Resonant Blue and thinking of PoT fanfic ideas and then all of a sudden it just HITS me that 9 Seigaku regulars = 9 Morning Musume members and immediately I have the mental image of Seigaku singing/dancing Resonant Blue!
Er, what…?

For some odd reason I’m imagining Eiji, Fuji, and Ryoma as the leads. After that, I really don’t know…

Resonant Blue covers + DVD info

Yes! The covers for Morning Musume’s 36th single Resonant Blue were posted on Some Boys! Blog today, and then the content of the limited edition DVDs was posted there a little later. Both are things I’ve been waiting for for a while (though mostly the DVD content because I wasn’t about to just gUESS which one would have better content and pre-order like that!), so I’m so happy to finally get this info.

I just found out that a radio rip for this song was out, so I went and searched for a download. This song is the b-side to Morning Musume’s upcoming single Resonant Blue.
There’s a lot of talking over it. It seems like a pretty good song, and the line distribution seems more even than in Resonant Blue…but I’ll wait for a better quality version to come out before I really go into my thoughts on it.

Resonant Blue PV

I’m kinda late with this, but the internet at the resort I’m staying in here (I’m in the Dominican Republic until Saturday night) died last night and I just got it back. Actually the internet here just kinda sucks in general, it seriously took at least an hour for the Resonant Blue PV to load fully yesterday. I was planning on thinking it over for a bit while I was at dinner, but then when I came back ready to write the internet was dead.

So, Resonant Blue. Morning Musume’s 36th single and the namesake for this new blog. As I mentioned in the last post, I don’t think the song itself is all that impressive or special, but at the same time, it’s really catchy and I can’t stop it from getting stuck in my head all the time.
Here’s the problem: It’s dominated by Reina, Ai, and Koharu.

Catching up

So this is my first post after moving my former blog, ~ lurking in the shadows ~ (on Blogger, here) to WordPress. I got the idea for it about a week ago, then like 7+ j-pop blogs got deleted from WP so I decided against it, but after Kawaiirrhea figured out what was causing the shutdowns (Pony Canyon downloads), I decided to just go ahead because I don’t have any Pony Canyon downloads on my blog (and as of now I don’t plan on ever having any). I like WordPress better than Blogger, so…
There’s also a new name. I kinda was getting tired of the old name, and since I’m moving this anyway, why not? xD Resonant Blue was the first thing that came to mind…named after Morning Musume’s upcoming single.

As my first post here, I should catch up with everything I’ve missed lately. I’m going to attempt to keep this blog up-to-date, update it much more, and write some posts that have some actual content besides just quick news posts. xD

(my g key’s broken, and while I’m copy-pasting the lowercase g it’s too much trouble to keep copy-pasting the uppercase and then having to go back to the lowercase…so that’s why I might have random fail moments in terms of capitalization)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JUNJUN! <333333

Wow, Junjun turned 20 today! 20 is the age in Japan where you are considered an adult, and it’s a big thing.
I remember I was really surprised when I found out she was 19 a couple months or so ago- I had thought that I had heard that she was really young, so when I saw her birthday on ThePPN Wiki I was uber surprised. xD
So, yeah, happy birthday to Junjun, and I hope she had a great day today~ xD

Morning Musume ranking

I was actually planning on doing a Morning Musume ranking soon anyway, so this provided a great opportunity to actually do it.

I didn’t do the Berryz Koubou and C-ute ones, because while I FINALLY know their names (YESS) I don’t actually know anything about them. Definitely not enough to rank them.

1. Junjun
Definitely my #1 right now, even though she’s pretty new there’s just something about her…
2. Reina
Reina’s cute and has a good voice, but somehow her spot was just recently taken over by Junjun. xD
3. Aika
She’s the only Musume younger than I am (only by a month), and I didn’t like her at first but slowly I’ve grown to really like her.
4. Risa
I like her voice, and I’m glad that she has the Athena & Robikerottsu unit- though I don’t think it’ll be a permanent unit since it was created only for that anime.
5. Koharu
While she doesn’t have the best voice in the group, I really like her solo singles. They’re strangely addicting…
6. Ai
She has a really strong voice, and I think she would be great as a soloist. However, I can’t help but feel like she’s getting wayy too much attention in Momusu.
7. Sayumi
She’s really cute, but she really doesn’t have that good of a voice. She’s definitely improved though, I saw a video of her singing Do it! Now with two other girls (I forget who, maybe Reina and Eri) and I couldn’t stand her voice. X_x It’s tolerable now.
8. Linlin
I don’t really know much about her…
9. Eri
Sorry Eri fans, but I just don’t like Eri that much…

Comparing it to the first Momusu ranking post I did, here, my opinions of most of the girls haven’t changed that much. xD

Congrats, Kaori!

Iida Kaori from Morning Musume had a baby boy on January 22nd. This is the second child by a Hello! Project member (all the former H!P members that have had kids were out of H!P before they had the kid, I believe), the first being Tsuji Nozomi’s baby girl Noa a couple months ago. I wish the best of luck to Kaori and her husband and baby. ^^
I guess they didn’t want to reveal the name of the baby, but I really want to know…xD I kinda want to see pictures too~…

I think I’ve slowly become addicted to Junjun.

…and I think she’s my #1 in Morning Musume right now. Sorry Reina, at least you’re still #2.
I honestly have no idea why she’s taken over my Morning Musume fandom, but it definitely happened. xD
I’ve now decided that I want my very first photobook purchase to be of Junjun. Whether it’s the 8th gen together, a duo Junjun and Linlin photobook, or just Junjun solo. Preferably the last one. =P

And now for some picspam, because I’m pretty sure that’s why I’m such a huge fan now. It can’t have been the singing, because it’s not like she’s had many lines so far. xD

Morning Musume’s upcoming single

Morning Musume is releasing their 36th single on March 5th. Like all of their recent singles (aka, starting with Aruiteru), it’s coming in three versions- however, unlike their recent singles, according to CD Japan’s upcoming artist newsmail the two limited editions BOTH come with bonus DVDs. No limited photobook, I guess.

I was planning on pre-ordering both limited editions, but I’m not sure since they’re both kinda expensive- each one is $17 on Yesasia, as opposed to the limited edition A being like $17.75 and the limited edition B being like $13 or $14 or whatever the price is, I can’t find an example on Yesasia cause they’re all out of print.
It’ll probably depend on the song itself, and the content of the DVDs…it was so much easier back when they only had one limited edition so I didn’t even have to think about it- as soon as they announced a new single I just pre-ordered the limited edition right away…xD (Plus it was cheaper.)
